Airbus UK A400M machining success
19th August 2005
Following the successful introduction of two forged and machined fuel system parts for the A380 Program, Airbus UK have awarded Mettis Aerospace five new parts on A400M.
The contract award covers two stainless steel venting duct forgings, that control the fuel systems on each wing (commonly known as NACA duct rings) and three machined Titanium flanges which were all originally designed to be manufactured from plate, however due to supply chain and technical issues Mettis worked with Airbus to develop a solution that met all of their criteria.
With the formal approvals in place we are now looking forward to further developing our relationship with Airbus and hope to be able to announce new contract awards in the near future.
